“I can still hear the horn from the many visits of the train on its serpentine journey through Fallbrook’s Friendly Village before arriving at the once classic Santa Fe station on Alvarado.”

Location: Elder St at South Main Ave Inspiration:

The mural, a citrus box label style rendition honoring Fallbrook’s agricultural industry, depicts a Santa Fe train crossing Main and includes the old Ellis Hotel as well as Fallbrook's famous citrus and avocado crops. Trains have been an important part of Fallbrook’s history by transporting local produce, lumber, passengers and military supplies to the Naval Weapons Station. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad crossed Main between Elder and Fig Streets from 1904 until the early 1970’s.

About the Artist: Brett Stokes is known as an enigma in art circles and is known for his bold style. He has exhibited in private and public galleries and his work is collected nationally and internationally.

Donors:  The Angel Society, Mickey and Dawne McCullough, Helene Ross, James and Janis Swan, Rotary Club of Fallbrook, Arlyne Ingold, Fallbrook Village Rotary Club, MRW Group, Inc., Vince Ross, Robert and Robin Erickson
